I'm not happy with that implementation in Podcasts myself. In particular
the resume case is not really working nicely. I'd be happy to learn from
your findings... In particular I believe it doesn't work for all file
formats. mp4 or whatever sometimes doesn't allow seeking, thus the
resume doesn't work.
