Listening to UK stations overseas / BBC iPlayer plugin / Pandora

I am based outside UK but would like to listen to some UK content such as JazzFM. After years of leaving this, I have decided to try and sort it out and just started using the BBC iPlayer plugin.

On non-iPlayer, normal BBC streams, sometimes when there is certain sports content, the BBC 5 Live stream (not via iPlayer) stops working (it is replaced with a geo-blocking announcement).

Using the BBC iPlayer live section, I can listen both via UK and non-UK menus. However, the streams get cut off and then come back. Then they stop, come back, etc. If I just use the BBC station presets I have always used, everything works fine (except when there is a match on :mad:). As for JazzFM, it does not work at all.

Questions:
1. What could be causing the cut-off of the iPLayer streams?
2. Would iPlayer using the non-UK menus get around the geo-restrictions when there is a match on?
3. What could be wrong with JazzFM?
4. Do I need to subscribe to a SmartDNS service in order to listen to UK stations?
5. Pandora is missing from my menu even though the plugin is active. Assuming this is also caused by geo-restrictions, is there a way around that?
