Since Synology, unfortunately, stopped their support for the Logitech Media Server on their NAS (like my DS218+), I'm considering to upgrade the package to the version found here:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/lms.../files/DSM6.x/
But I'm hesitant to upload this package: how can I roll back to the existing package is anything fails? I see no option to backup / export the original 7.9.2.package (Hyper Backup backup the data folders, application but not the packages?). Since Synology removed the package from the Beta section I will probably not be able to install it again...
So I have two questions:
- is it safe to simply upload the 8.0.0 x86_64 package to the Synology NAS; will it overwrite the existing package or create a new one?
- what's the best way to 'roll-back' (is there a way to export or backup a single package)?
Hope anyone can be of help..
Thanks in advance,
Peter
