Help - LMS can’t find local music

I got a new Mac mini a while ago and squeezebox server can no longer find my local music. I’m running the latest build of Big Sur, and I tried lms 8.1 and lms 8.2. Both can scan my Tidal library but not my local music.

I have all of my music stored on an external USB drive. I point LMS to my music folder, but it won’t import/scan. Just about all my music in Apple lossless files.

Any and all suggestions on how to remedy this are appreciated. Thanks very much.
