Tidal on LMS and Squeezepad

Is there an idiot's guide ? I have just bought the 5 month trial of Tidal (HiFi option) and trying to get it running. I am running Qobuz via the LMS plugin successfully using Squeezepad on my Ipad. LMS (v7.9.1) runs on my Mac upstairs.

First of all I simply enabled the Tidal plugin and restarted LMS. That gave me the Tidal App and I could access Tidal libraries. However, strangely, whichever play list I tried, Tidal always played the track three titles further on ! It also only seemed to be streaming in MP3 quality.

So I uninstalled it, re-registered with Squeezebox (I really am not sure what MySqueezebox has to do with any of this - do I actually need it ?). re-installed the Tidal plugin, restarted LMS and tried again.

This time I have no app displayed on Squeezepad at all.

Am I just wasting my time and a fiver ? All I wanted to do was trial Tidal and its high res screaming (PCM only, not interested in MQA). Sadly there seems little indication on Tidal as to the quality of its output - all there seems to me is an 'M' for Master tag.

Thanks

UPDATE

Weird - just opened Squeezepad again and all seems to be OK (sort of). The Tidal app has returned, the correct tracks play when selected, and I am getting FLAC PCM output.
But how can I try getting better that CD standard ? I had heard rumours that the Tidal plugin does not support higher resolutions. Is this true ?
If so, what other means can I use to play Tidal high res as I cannot see a Tidal remote app on the App store (searching for TA Control 2, mentioned on the Tidal website, comes up blank).
