Boom successfully revived - thanks!

Hi
I returned to these forums (after a long absence) mainly because my beloved Boom was rattling and I wanted to see what I could do about it.

A little browsing led me to some new bass drivers - I got them here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/283522191052?ul_noapp=true

And also Joes excellent instructions: https://joes-tech-blog.blogspot.com/...adio-bass.html

When the blog says you'll need a lot of patience, he wasn't kidding! Just about every stage was fiddly but I got there in the end. With a bit of a clean up, it looks and sounds almost like new. Fabulous!

[Just one note on the disassembly instructions: they refer to EIGHT screws holding the two parts of the case together. Mine had TEN, which held me up for a while until I figured out what was going on]

As an aside, I found that one of the bass units was clearly failed but the other one LOOKS ok. I didn't engage in extensive A/B testing to check this out, but if anyone needs a spare bass unit for a Boom or Radio (same unit, I understand) then PM me. It would be a shame to waste it.
