Raspberry Pi 4 and DAC on daughterboard.

Hello

I am currently using a Raspberry Pi 3B+ with a Hifiberry DAC+ Pro card. This equipment hosts an LMS server, a Squeezelite player and Kodi (FullHD only). All this runs very well on Raspbian Buster, with hard drives directly connected via USB.

I plan to use a Raspberry 4 but I fear temperature concerns when used with an additional card. So I have several questions for you.

Are you using a GPIO sound card with a Raspberry 4? If yes, are you also using your Raspberry Pi to run somewhat heavy tools (4K video, DSD audio)? With temperature concerns or not? With which case?

I just found: https://support.hifiberry.com/hc/en-...r-HiFiBerryDAC

Have you had to replace your sound card with an external USB DAC?

For those who already use an external USB DAC, how does Squeezelite behave? When the DAC is only switched on when listening to music, while the Raspberry is still on, should you stop and restart Squeezelite? Or can Squeezelite wait for the return of the DAC? Do you have any configuration advice to give me?

I know these are a lot of questions!
There is no urgency to answer me. For now, I'm just thinking about the future of my installation.

Thanks in advance.
